Small Business Unemployment on the Rise

With unemployment at a 26 year high at 10.2%, its no wonder that DC movers and shakers are starting to focus more attention on small business owners.

Statistics supplied by ADP (and reported by CNN) show that small businesses (businesses with less than 50 employees) cut 68,000 jobs in the last quarter of 2oo9. A huge portion of the total 5.3 million jobs lost this year alone was due to the 2 million jobs lost in small business.

With challenges such as small business loans drying up, SBA subsidies running out, and other small business financial institutions going bankrupt, it will be harder to recover those lost jobs. Obama’s Administration New Strategy to Curb Child Obesity

Trying to get closer to the so controversial and publicized healthcare reform, President Obama signed much like waving a magic wand, another anti-obesity strategy. Off course just like First Ladies before her, Michele Obama has volunteered to spear of the fight against childhood obesity, and turn it into her prevailing cause – we do need a mission manager after all.

So how effective is this new strategy going to really be? How much of this is actually doable and how much is just another disappointment waiting to happen? Mrs. Obama expressed her desire to end childhood obesity in just ONE generation. That is a tall order even for the Obama clan.

But maybe she is on to something. Scientist and researches are noticing a decline in childhood obesity over the last years mostly due to the large attention the local and state governments are paying on what is being served in school cafeterias. Am I a Democrat or a Republican?

In light of today’s news about my wife possibly losing her job and the state being held to blame for us losing $30,000 out of our household, I’ve come to the conclusion or pivotal point in my life, am I a Democrat or a Republican.  Confused? well me too maybe you can help. My wife and I work hard for a living like most people do, we do find it unfair that our state would cut out jobs or funding that would cost us our jobs when a lot of citizens in our state live off some kind of public aid that we pay for. Does the state want us to quit our jobs and be totally dependent on them? Was I wrong for paying my bills and worrying about credit scores? Does China ask the US for a profit and loss statement before they loan us money? With all theses questions once again I have to ask myself, am I a Democrat or Republican
